Hooray, I’ve written a book!

Now, I am actively seeking a literary agent to help me publish it.

Paris was never the goal. All I wanted was to leave Australia, play roller derby, be an international woman of mystery, and meet the love of my life. Was that so much to ask? The City of Lights kicked my ass. Working for below minimum wage, I saw none of the romance and all of the piss-smelling bridges. The language eluded me, I got punched in the face and cheated on, and my 100-square-foot apartment became a prison.

People say that French society is like a coconut – tough on the outside, but sweet and tender on the inside. But will I break through that tough outer shell before France breaks me?

Memoirs about Paris tend to concentrate on the baguettes, cheese, and museums, but thanks to my time doing weird sports (roller derby, boxing) and jobs (bicycle and Segway tour guide), and generally being destitute, I saw sides of Paris that most people don't. I lived in Paris for seven years, and have written a fun, surprising and unsentimental travel memoir of the most over-romanticized city and culture in the world.

Here’s how you can help me get it published:

  1. Download the sample chapter “Compass” by clicking here. Let me know what you think!

  2. Share it with anybody that you think will enjoy it.

  3. Write to me via my contact page if you can help me find that agent or have any advice.

  4. Send me a request for the complete manuscript proposal if you want to know more about the project.

  5. Leave your email below, so I can keep you up to date on the latest developments.

Thank you so much for reading!
